04 Silverado - scan tool/code reader won't turn on - YouTube MAY03LT

Here I went to read codes in a 2004 Silverado and my tech2 wouldn't power up. Like the Trailblazers, power to the obd2 port goes through the CIG LTR fuse in the front fuse block. So, verify that you have a blown 15A fuse, and if so, bang in a 15A fuse and you should be good to go. Keep in mind that this doesn't tell you why the fuse blew, although 9/10 times using a cell phone charger in one of the 12v acc ports is the cause.
